Rules - Important information

Accepting the invite to FF1 commits you to playing fair and paying £25 for the season, £20 will be entered into the prize fund and £5 will go towards paying for the hosting, continual development and maintenance of the website and CMS.

Payment needs to be made before the 28/2/2024 anyone who doesn’t pay by this time will be excluded from the prize giving, no matter where you finish at the end of the season.

A participants team will be comprised of three drivers. When you first log-in you will be randomly drawn a team, one driver from the top, middle and lower end of the field based on team finishing positions last year (see below), this helps to balance the teams for all players. Perez and Vestappen wont be in the draw but players will be able to purchase them during the year when they have gained 15 credits.

Top Teams:

Red bull (Through credits)

Mercedes

Ferrari

McLaren

Middle Teams:

Aston Martin

Alpine

Williams

Bottom Teams:

RB (Alpha Tauri)

Kick Sauber (Alfa Romeo)

Haas

Some teams will share the same drivers, you may even have all the same 3 drivers as someone else, it’s down to who you pick for each weekend that will determine who comes out on top at the end of the season!

How the game is scored

Points can only be scored by the drivers you have set to racing for that weekend, if you forget to set your drivers the day before qualifying you will forfeit all points for your drivers on that weekend.

Sprint Races

Sprint Races wont be scored but will require you to select your driver on the Thursday before qualifying on the Friday. Each sprint will be announced on the home page next to the race event so it is clear which weekend is a sprint race!

After each race your total driver points will be added to your team score, if your drivers finish outside the top ten you will be awarded credits which can be saved up and used to purchase LeClerc or Verstappen for a weekend (for more information on the credit system see the credit section below).

Below shows the official breakdown of the points scored on a race weekend.

1st: 21 points

2nd: 18 points

3rd: 15 points

4th: 12 points

5th: 10 points

After a race is completed your team scores will be updated with the points your drivers have scored on that weekend.

Scoring outside the top ten will gain you credits, the lower you finish the more credits you will receive.*

*If your driver doesn't complete the race distance he will be qualified as DNF and will receive neither points nor credits!

How to play

For each race you will need to log in and select which driver you are resting. You can only have two of your drivers racing on a race weekend and you have to rest your drivers in a 3x race rotation.

Driver line-ups must be decided before the qualifying day of the race weekend, (I would suggest you catch up with the practice sessions to help you choose your line-up or see how your drivers performed last year) for example if your team was as follows, you could have:

Australia

Race one you could decide to rest Ricciardo which means you will only score points with Perez and Maldonaldo this week. (luckily for all players Maldonaldo has left the sport and now also Danny Ric!)

Malaysia

Race two you could rest Maldonaldo and score points using Ricciardo and Perez.

China

Race three would require you to rest Perez because you have used him for the last two races*.

*You will need to log into the system and select your drivers each and every week before qualifying.

Then from the fourth to sixth race you start again (you could even have the same line up two weeks in a row e.g a Ricciardo/Maldonaldo line up for the third and fourth race weekend).

The season has 24 races which means you would alternate your drivers eight times.

It’s down to you to work out which circuits your drivers are best suited to race, or simply keep the same 3x week rotation and who knows it may be the winning strategy (it was in 2017!).

Driver selection cut off dates are midnight on the day before qualifying, if you haven’t selected your drivers then you will forfeit points for the race weekend.

Driver Changes - How to change your team

You have the option to change your three drivers anytime during the season, a new driver will be randomly generated for you from that tier.

If you had Lance Stroll in your team you could change him before the season even began! Just log into your team management area and select driver changes from the menu, select which driver you would like to change (you will get a warning that this is permanent) and click change driver.

A new driver will be selected for you at random from the same tier (in this example you would get another driver from either Aston Martin, Alpine or Williams.)

Changing your drivers isn’t compulsory, if you are happy with the team you have been selected then feel free to stick with them until the end of the season. You only get three changes per season so use them wisely.

Credit system - Buy Perez and Verstappen

Divers who finish outside the top ten will accrue credits which can be used to buy an extra driver for a weekend.

Teams will have to save up enough credits in order to purchase either Perez or Verstappen, the points gained from using either Perez or Verstappen will be added alongside your other two drivers for that weekend, so if you manage to pull off a 1,2,3 finish you would gain 54 points for that weekend!

The driver is choosen for you at random so you have a 50/50 chance of getting Verstappen or Perez.
